Egon Schiele and his contemporaries

Richard Nagy Ltd.  exhibited the compelling works of one of the most influential Austrian artists of the early 20th century, Egon Schiele, alongside pieces by his contemporaries. This unique exhibition ran from 3 September to 6 October 2018, offering visitors an opportunity to explore the artistic landscape of Vienna during a time of significant cultural change. Egon Schiele (1890-1918), known for his expressive style and provocative subject matter, was a central figure in the Austrian avant-garde. His work, characterised by its bold lines, distorted figures, and raw emotional intensity, continues to captivate audiences worldwide. This exhibition  featured a selection of Schiele's most evocative drawings, highlighting his innovative approach to form and human expression.

In addition to Schiele's masterpieces, the exhibition  included works by his contemporaries, Gustav Klimt and Oskar Kokoschka, who were equally instrumental in shaping the art world of their time. Together, these artists formed a critical dialogue that helped define the direction of modern art in Vienna and beyond.

Visitors had the chance to view rare works, some of which have never been publicly exhibited before, offering a unique glimpse into the creative processes of these groundbreaking artists.
